Newton baseball takes down Effingham; St. Anthony baseball defeats Richland County

Newton 4, Effingham 3
Newton defeated Effingham 4-3, at Jasper County Boys and Girls Ball Park.
The Eagles (3-1) scored two runs in the first and fifth innings. Newton had five hits in the game. The Flaming Hearts (2-2) scored one run in the first, second and seventh innings. Effingham had seven hits and recorded one error.
Quincy Fulton had one hit (one double) and two runs scored for the Eagles. Drake Wolf and Reed Tharp each had one hit and one RBI. Carson Barthelme and Chance Mulvey each had one hit. David Ferguson had one RBI and Eli Wolf and Parker Harris each had one run scored.
Drake Wolf started for Newton and allowed three hits, two runs and two walks to two strikeouts over three innings. Barthelme, Mulvey and Maddox Horner followed. Barthelme allowed one hit with one strikeout in one inning; Mulvey allowed two hits with one strikeout in two innings and Horner allowed one hit and one run with two strikeouts in one inning.
Carter Braddy had two hits for the Hearts. Jude Traub had two hits (one home run), one RBI and one run scored. Brayden Tucker had two hits (one double) and one RBI. Brody Boehm had one hit and Andrew Wagoner and Westin Hayes each had one run scored.

St. Anthony 7, Richland County 5
St. Anthony defeated Olney (Richland County), 7-5, at Community Park.
The Bulldogs (3-0) scored two runs in the first inning and five in the sixth. They had six hits and recorded seven errors in the game.
Henry Brent and Xander Beals each had one hit, one RBI and one run scored. Will Bierman had one hit (one double). Freddie Jansen and Rogan Allen each had one hit and one run scored. Will Vonderheide had one hit and Charley Spour, Alex Mayer and Ben McDonald each had one run scored.
Mayer started and allowed one hit, two runs (one earned) and one walk to three strikeouts over four innings. Jansen and Maddux Clark followed. Jansen allowed three hits, one unearned run and two walks to one strikeout in two innings; Clark allowed one hit and two unearned runs with one strikeout in one inning.
Teutopolis 12, Cumberland 1
Teutopolis defeated Cumberland, 12-1, at First Neighbor Bank Field.
The Wooden Shoes (2-1) scored two runs in the first and third innings, seven in the fourth and one in the fifth. T-Town had 11 hits in the game. The Pirates (1-3) scored one run in the second inning. Cumberland had four hits and recorded four errors.
Austin Borries had three hits, two RBI and two runs scored for the Shoes. Jason Kreke had two hits (one double and one home run), two RBI and two runs scored. Davin Worman had one hit (one double) and two runs scored. Aidan Niemerg had one hit and two runs scored. Michael Habing had one hit (one double) and one run scored. Hayden Tebbe had one hit and one RBI. Caleb Deters had one hit, one RBI and one run scored. Teagan Pals had one hit and one RBI and Nolan Schumacher and Kendal Mette each had one run scored.
Deters pitched for T-Town and allowed four hits and one run with five strikeouts over five innings.
Adyn Heuerman had two hits (one home run), one RBI and one run scored for the Pirates. Grady Jones and Lance Lock each had one hit.
Jones started for Cumberland and allowed five hits, six runs (three earned) and three walks to five strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings. Kade McMechan, Reed Walker and Bryson Weber followed. McMechan allowed four hits, five runs and three walks; Walker threw 1/3 of an inning and Weber allowed two hits, one unearned run and one walk in one inning.
Shelbyville 7, Dieterich 5
Dieterich fell to Shelbyville, 7-5, at Dieterich High School Baseball Field.
The Movin Maroons (4-1) scored one run in the second and sixth innings and three in the seventh. They had eight hits and recorded five errors in the game.
Dominic Ashley and Carson Baxter each had two hits and one RBI. Justin Boerngen had one hit, one RBI and one run scored. Bryce Bohnhoff and Mason Lidy each had one hit and one run scored and Jackson Icenogle and Tanner Niemerg each had one run scored.
Ashley started and allowed eight hits and six runs (two earned) with four strikeouts over five innings. Alex Schottman followed and allowed one hit, one run and two walks to two strikeouts in two innings.
Pana 12, Cowden-Herrick-Beecher City 2
Cowden-Herrick-Beecher City fell to Pana, 12-2, at Pana.
The Bobcats (0-2) scored two runs in the fifth inning. They had four hits and recorded five errors in the game.
Clive Schlanser, Charlie Hardimon and Cayden Ondes each had one hit. Ben Askins had one hit and one RBI.
Kale Hardimon started and allowed one hit, one run and three walks to three strikeouts over three innings. Isaac Wells and Isaac Miller followed.
