NFL Fans Pushing For Rules Change After The 2026 Draft
The 2026 NFL Draft's first round came and went in a very quick way on Thursday evening.
The first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, live from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, took place in less than three hours. It started at 8 p.m. E.T. and it was wrapped up before 11 p.m. E.T. It was a historically quick NFL Draft.
That's because the league changed the rules. NFL teams had just eight minutes to make their selections. However, not everyone was happy with the change. Some NFL fans are now pushing for a rules change.
The one problem with the 8-minute long picks in the first round is that it caused a bit of a backup.
Picks were leaking online before they were being made on TV. Anyone following along on social media was often multiple picks ahead of the broadcast.
That's an issue.
Should the NFL go back to 10-minute picks in the first round?
NFL fans are pushing the league to move back to the 10-minute mark in the first round for next year.
"The shorter round was nice but it didn't flow as well. Go back to 10 minutes," one fan wrote.
"Would like them to go back to 10 minutes next year. It just flows better that way," one fan added.
"Too many picks were piling up on Thursday night. Go back to the 10-minute rule," another fan added.
"We need to make the change back. Would like to see a 10-minute length again," one added.
Does the NFL need to consider changing the rules again?
