Dianna Russini's Public Spotify Playlist For 'Mike' Has Leaked
In an interesting new bit of information (that makes us all question how we didn't pick up on this story involving Mike Vrabel years ago), former NFL insider Dianna Russini seemingly made a special Spotify playlist for the NFL head coach.
Yesterday, David Covucci of FOIAball shared a post showing that Russini made a playlist called "Turning the Page" that she shared with a user named Mike on December 19, 2022. As Covucci and others have pointed out, that playlist share just so happened to coincide with a four-game losing streak that the Tennessee Titans were suffering through at the time. Vrabel was head coach of the Titans at the time.
"Dianna Russini made a Spotify playlist called "TURNIN THE PAGE" that she shared with a user named "Mike" on December 19, 2022. Which just so happens to coincide with a four-game Titans losing streak," Covucci wrote.
Recapping the Controversy
The controversy began earlier this month after photos published by Page Six showed the two together at a resort in Sedona, Arizona. Because Vrabel was the head coach of the New England Patriots and Russini was a prominent NFL reporter for The Athletic at the time, the images sparked widespread speculation about a possible inappropriate relationship and raised questions about professional boundaries between reporters and league sources. Both denied wrongdoing and said the photos lacked context.
The story grew larger because it touched on media ethics, conflicts of interest, and how personal relationships can affect public trust in sports reporting. The Athletic reportedly reviewed the matter internally, and Russini later resigned from the outlet amid intense public attention. The NFL said it was not investigating Vrabel under league policy, while Vrabel later acknowledged having difficult conversations with family and team members. The controversy became less about confirmed misconduct and more about perception, accountability, and standards for journalists and high-profile sports figures.
