Fever Coach Stephanie White All Smiles Discussing Caitlin Clark News

Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White is all smiles over Caitlin Clark's latest honor.

White celebrated the news that her star guard will serve as grand marshal for the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500. The prestigious race takes place Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Clark will step to the microphone atop the Victory Podium and deliver the ceremonial command to all 33 drivers during pre-race ceremonies.

White believes Clark is a no-brainer choice for the role, given her immense popularity in Indianapolis.

"I think it's going to be a lot of fun," White told reporters. "I mean, you know, to experience that, I'm not sure if she's been yet or not, but to experience that as the grand marshal, I think, is one of the highest honors you can get in the state of Indiana, so I think it's going to be a lot of fun."

Clark joins a prestigious list of Indiana figures who have held the role. NBA Hall of Famers Larry Bird and Reggie Miller, Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning have all been grand marshals before her.

She joins Fever legend Tamika Catchings, who also took on the role previously.

The honor arrives as Clark gives the Fever plenty of reasons to celebrate on the court.

Back to full health after playing just 13 games last year due to injury, she averages 24.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists across four games.

Indiana sits at 2-2 in the young 2026 WNBA season. For White, this honor is just further proof that Clark belongs on every big stage this city has to offer.
