Christian Pulisic Infuriates Fans With Comment After World Cup Loss
Christian Pulisic is considered by some to be the best player in the history of U.S. men's soccer, with his success playing in Europe.
But, when it comes to the international stage, Pulisic has consistently disappointed. He's failed to produce at the same level as former U.S. soccer greats, like Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey.
This year was supposed to be different. The U.S. were playing on their home soil. A trip to the quarterfinals or further was supposed to be in play. However, on Monday night, the U.S. was dominated by Belgium, falling 4-1 in the Round of 16.
Pulisic missed much of the second half, exiting with a leg injury. He's exited early in several World Cup games over the past two cycles.
Following the game, Pulisic spoke to reporters, admitting that he now has time to get over his injury.
"Now I have time to rest," he told reporters.
Fans are infuriated by Pulisic's attitude
Soccer fans don't think Pulisic has the mentality needed to succeed at the top level.
"Sorry but who cares. He shouldn't have played if he was weak and injured. His spot should have been taken by a younger and hungry player!" one fan wrote.
"He has no interest in being on this team and his face shows that he is disingenuous with every word - never seen anything like this fella," one fan added.
"This right here is the reason that the US will never be a serious contender in international soccer. Soft," one fan added.
"That attitude says it all…no wonder the team was psyched out, wonder what speech this dude gave or if any," one fan added.
"Don't worry about it lil bro, this was just another tournament, no big deal," another fan said sarcastically.
Pulisic will be in his 30s by the next World Cup, set for 2030.
Will he still be an impact player for the USMNT in the next World Cup?
