Mascoutah defeats LaSalle, takes third place in 3A State Finals

Falling to Woodstock yesterday in the semifinals, Mascoutah bounced back in a tight win over LaSalle taking third place in the Class 3A state volleyball finals.

LaSalle opened the first set with a four point advantage, keeping a close game and trading leads with the Indians. A well timed kill from Paige Weiss finalized the first set at 25-21.

Again the teams played close, with a well margined 21-16 lead through the second set. Maddie Nekola sealed the second set with a service ace, giving Mascoutah a 28-26 victory. Amanda Jung lead Mascoutah with eight kills and 8.5 points.

Mascoutah ends the season with a 33-8 record.
