Today’s question: All-time hits leader Pete Rose had his appeal for reinstatement to baseball turned down again this week but there is little doubt that Rose was part of many of the greatest momments in major league history. Pete hit a double on April 13,1984 for his 4,000 Major League base hit. Can you name the 41-year-old pitcher that surrendered this hit?
Yesterday’s answer: The five seniors who were on the 2004-05 Illinois team that reached the Final Four were Luther Head, Roger Powell Jr., Jack Ingram, Nick Smith, and Fred Nkemdi. If you followed the Illini season closely, you would know all of the players. If you didn’t, you probably don’t know Fred Nkemdi. He only played 44 minutes and averaged 0.7 points per game.
