Today’s question: With March Madness nearly upon us, this is one of several NCAA Tournament questions coming in the next few weeks. Who was the first player to play for an NIT champion and NCAA runner-up in the same season?

Yesterday’s question and answer: In which 1975 major championship did Jack Nicklaus sink a final round 40-foot birdie putt on the 16th hole, then go on to defeat Johnny Miller and Tom Weiskopf by one shot? The Masters; Nicklaus finished at 12 under while Miller and Weiskopf finished one back at 11 under.
