Baseball Braggin’ Rights game set for GCS Ballpark

GCS Ballpark will host the annual "Braggin' Rights" baseball game between the University of Illinois and the University of Missouri on April 4, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.

The two baseball programs will play at home of the Gateway Grizzlies for the third consecutive year. The all-time series is split at 13-13, but Missouri hasn’t defeated the Illini since 2014.

"This is an intense rivalry game between two historically good programs looking to take their program to the next level,” said Mizzou's head coach Steve Bieser. "This can go a long way in helping with recruiting since both programs are strong contenders for the top prospects in the St. Louis Metropolitan area.”

College baseball is not new or rare to the home of the Gateway Grizzlies. In addition to the Braggin’ Rights game, GCS Ballpark serves as the home field for both Webster University and Lindenwood University in Belleville.

The Fighting Illini will take the first base dugout and the Mizzou Tigers will take the third base dugout.

Field box seats start at $10. All-inclusive tickets, which include all drinks and party suite buffet, are $50. Ticket are available by calling the Grizzlies’ ticket office at (618) 337-3000.
