Lindenwood wins conference road game


The Lindenwood University - Belleville Men's basketball team (8-11, 6-6 in AMC) traveled to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas Thursday evening for an American Midwest Conference game against the Williams Baptist College Eagles (9-7, 5-6 in AMC) and came away with a five-point victory to improve to .500 in AMC play this season.

The Lynx built an early five-point lead and maintained their distance from the Eagles.

The Lynx wound up with a 16-point lead eight minutes into the second half.

Senior guard Martavian Payne led the charge with 27 points and three assists. Junior guard Shakari Hawkins chipped in with 16 points.

The Lynx will now travel to Henderson, Tennessee Saturday afternoon for another conference matchup against the Freed-Hardeman University Lions (6-14, 3-9 in AMC) beginning at 3 p.m.
