SIUE assistant coach Chamov published in track magazine

The most recent edition of “Techniques,” the official publication of the USTFCCCA, features and article written by Southern Illinois University Edwardsville track and field jumps coach Iliyan Chamov.

“Techniques” features just four editions per academic year. Chamov’s article, “Triple Jump Parameters,” appears in the final edition for the 2014-2015 seasons.

His research article focuses on female triple jump athletes. The female triple jump was added to the Olympic Games in 1996, making it the newest addition to the track and field events.

“As a coach and educator, I feel obligated to develop the event to its full potential,” said Chamov. “I would like to thank all my athletes for the tremendous dedication and head coach McAllister for the guidance and inspiration as a mentor.”

“We speak to our athletes about being students of their event and sport,” added McAllister. “Coach Chamov being published is a fantastic message to our athletes. Iliyan’s actions to get published go beyond his responsibilities as an SIUE coach. It speaks to his passion for the sport. It is recognition for him and SIUE.”
