The Lindenwood University–Belleville women’s basketball team traveled to St. Louis ON Tuesday evening to resume conference play and beat Missouri Baptist 74-63.
Trailing 4-2 at the start of the game, sophomore guard Hailey Erdman made a three-pointer to put the Lady Lynx ahead, giving them momentum for the remainder of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Lady Lynx extended their lead to 25-19 going into the half. The Lynx shot 31 percent from the floor in the firt hald, while Erdman, Allison Daca and Kyndra Morgan each had seven points to lead the team.
The second half started slow, but then both teams began to find their offensive rhythm. Both the Lynx and Spartans scored a game-high 16 points in the third quarter, and the Lynx held on to the lead at 41-35 to begin the fourth.
The Spartans closed the gap early in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Lynx responded by outscoring them by five in the quarter to claim the win and improve to 2-1 in conference play.
Erdman led the team in points with 19 and in assists with seven, and Daca had a career-high game with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while going 2-for-2 from beyond the three point line.
The Lady Lynx will plat at St. Louis College of Pharmacy Eutectics at 5:30 pm. Thursday.
