Lindenwood University-Belleville men’s basketball played host to the Lincoln Christian University Red Lions on Thursday evening in Lynx Arena for a non-conference matchup, and despite a second-half surge, fell by the score of 88-74.
The Red Lions came out firing on all cylinders, shooting 60 percent from the floor and 54 percent from beyond the three-point line. By the end of the first half, the Red Lions had a 46-28 lead over the Lynx.
The Red Lions continued to distance themselves from the Lynx, at one point expanding their lead to 30 points in the second half.
However, the Lynx didn’t go quietly and closed the gap to 14 points, but it was too little too late.

For the game, the Lynx shot 48 percent from the floor, 29 percent on three-pointers and 57 percent from the free-throw line. Four players scored in the double-digits including senior guard Shakari Hawkins (12), freshman guard JC Moll (12), freshman forward Brenden Gillman (11), and junior guard Rodarius Mitchell (11).
The Lynx next face Maryville University in St. Louis on Saturday at 3 p.m. in a non-conference game.
