Lady Lynx look for win at Missouri Baptist

The Lindenwood University-Belleville women’s basketball team looks to get back to the .500 mark in American Midwest Conference (AMC) play on Saturday, as the Lady Lynx pay a visit to Missouri Baptist University. Tipoff begins at 2 p.m.

First Time Around

Back on Dec. 5, the Lady Lynx (7-14; 7-8 AMC), earned a 77-76 (OT) win over the Spartans (7-10; 6-8 AMC). LU-Belleville trailed 76-74 with .15 seconds on the clock, but Torre Kohrmann earned the old-fashioned three-point play with .09 seconds left, which gave them a 77-76 lead.

The Spartans had a chance to take the lead at the buzzer, but Jerica Hawkins’ two-pointer missed and the Lady Lynx went on for the victory.

Last Time Out

The Lady Lynx are coming off a dominating performance against St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Thursday night, as they scored a season-high 99 points and went on for the 44-point victory.

Momentum Into February

If the Lady Lynx can earn a win over Missouri Baptist, it would give them some needed momentum heading into February, as its first game of the month will be against No. 6-ranked Columbia College at home.

Jerica Hawkins: Averaging team-highs in points per game (14.7), field goal percentage (55.3), rebounds (114), blocks (23) and steals (35).

Taylor Klingelhoefer: Scoring 10.9 points per game and leads the team with a 80.3 free throw percentage.

LU-Belleville

Tiara Bramlett: Has reached double-figures in each of her nine games this season. In the past three games, Bramlett, has recorded a double-double and shot over 53.0 percent from the floor.

Rilea Huff: Her 60.0 field goal percentage was her highest-to-date thus far, while she reached 20-plus points for the fifth time this year.

Kindra Brown: She has shot over 46.0 percent in her last four games, while totaling at least 14 points in her last five.
