Season ends for Lynx rugby team
The inaugural season for the Lindenwood University-Belleville rugby Lynx came to an end at WakeMed Soccer Park, as they finished fourth in the nation with an overall record of 24-14-1.
The Lynx won their pool with a 2-0-1 showing and beat Salve Regina 31-5 in the quarterfinals before falling to Saint Louis University in the semifinal and Wisconsin-Whitewater in the consolation game.
"We came up short of our goal, which was, and always will be at Lindenwood-Belleville, winning a national championship, but I couldn't be more proud of the performance by our guys," said head coach Pat Clifton.
