LU-Belleville released 2016 women’s volleyball schedule
Lindenwood University-Belleville women’s volleyball coach Chris Phillips has announced the Lady Lynx 2016 schedule.
LU-Belleville will be looking to rebound off its 8-23 record last year. The team closed out its 2015 regular season on a high note as they won four out of its last five games. In the opening round of the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Tournament, the Lady Lynx ran into NAIA Top 10 Park University and despite its efforts the Pirates won in straight sets, eliminating LU-Belleville.
This will be Phillips first year at the helm after spending the past five seasons at Maryville University. She and the team will be looking for a strong start out of the gate at the Benedictine University Tournament on Aug, 26-27.
From there, the team returns home for its first regular season game inside Lynx Arena as they’ll host Missouri Valley College on Aug. 31.
The teams first AMC outing will be in front of the home crowd on Sept. 13 against St. Louis College of Pharmacy. After a trip to Olathe, Kansas, for the MidAmerica Nazarene University Tri-Match, the Lady Lynx stay on the road to face reigning NAIA National Champion, Columbia College.
They’ll come back to Lynx Arena for its longest home stretch of the season and first up is Stephens College on Sept. 24. Then, they’ll welcome NAIA Runner-up Missouri Baptist University six days later. To close out the home stand, Lindenwood-Belleville will take on Harris-Stowe State on Sept. 30.
After its three game at home, the Lady Lynx will have its longest road trip of the year as they’ll visit William Woods, Park University, Hannibal-LaGrange, Missouri Valley College for a tri-match and Lincoln Christian University over 24 day stretch.
On Oct. 28 the team will go toe-to-toe with Central Baptist College before playing its final regular season home game one day later against Freed-Hardeman.
To close out its 2016 campaign before the AMC Tournament they’ll head down south to face Williams Baptist College and Lyon College on Nov. 4-5.
