Lindenwood University-Belleville men’s basketball coach Scott Spinner and his coaching staff have announced 2016-17 schedule for the Lynx.

The Lynx are coming off a 13-17 overall record during the 2015-16 campaign. The team collected 10 wins in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) which earned them the No. 8 seed in the postseason tournament.

In the first round, the Lynx had to travel to No. 1 seed Freed-Hardeman University and despite outscoring the Lions 44-42 in the second half, its first half deficit proved to be too much as FHU went on for the 91-71 win.

This season, there will be plenty of hype around the men’s basketball team with the amount of returners and new faces the coaching staff has brought in. With the talent the Lynx can put on the court night in and night out, they could be one of the most dangerous teams not only in the AMC, but the NAIA as well.

After a couple scrimmages in the middle of October, LU-Belleville gets its season under way in front of the home crowd on Oct. 29 as they host Fisk University. Two days later the Lynx will host Haskell Indian Nations before hitting the road to complete a home and home series against Fisk on Nov. 5.

Then, a game that will be circled not only on the Lynx schedule but one that a lot of NAIA fans will be watching takes place on Nov. 10. LU-Belleville travels to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to take on the reigning NAIA National Champion in Mid-America Christian University.

On Nov. 17, the Lynx get its AMC play under way at home as they’ll host Williams Baptist College and then play Freed-Hardeman University on Nov. 19.

The team will hit the road for three games before coming on back to Lynx Arena for two non-conference games against St. Ambrose on Dec. 7 and Crowley’s Ridge College on Nov. 10.

The final home game before the break will be a showdown against AMC rival Columbia College on Dec. 15.

LU-Belleville will be on the road over the next month and then get back on its home floor on Jan. 12 and 14 against Lyon College and Central Baptist College.

Its final regular season home games will take place on Feb. 11 against Hannibal-LaGrange and William Woods University on Valentine’s Day. They’ll close out the year with a trip down south to Lyon College on Feb. 23 and Central Baptist on the Feb. 25.
