SIUE men’s golf honored for academics

For the sixth consecutive year, SIUE men’s golf has earned recognition as an All-Academic Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

SIUE is one of three Ohio Valley Conference honorees. Belmont and Eastern Kentucky also earned honors from the GCAA. The Cougars are among 105 NCAA Division I programs honored.

“This is a great honor for our team,” said SIUE head coach Derrick Brown. “We stress the importance of academics in our team culture, and it makes me proud to have earned this award for a sixth straight year.”

The Cougars achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.202 for the 2015-16 school year. Programs must have achieved at least a 3.0 GPA to be considered for the award by the GCAA.
