LU-Belleville releases inaugural schedule for field hockey

Head field hockey coach Caitlin Erickson has announced the inaugural 2016 schedule for the Lindenwood University-Belleville Lady Lynx.

“We are very excited for our first official season,” Erickson said. “Our staff has put in a lot of hard work to make this season something to remember and build off of. Field hockey is a unique sport and we are hoping with our new program it will generate more interest in the sport from the St. Louis and surrounding areas.”

The team will play in front of the home crowd in its first game on Sept. 4 as they’ll host Concordia University.

After a visit to Hendrix College on Sept. 10 and the University of the South on Sept. 1, they’ll return back to Lindenwood Stadium on Sept. 29 to host Belmont Abbey College.

From there, the team will play five games in a 15-day stretch where they’ll play the likes of Centre College, Transylvania University, Concordia University, Northwestern University and the University of Wisconsin.

LU-Belleville will close out its regular season at home as the University of Denver comes to town on Oct. 22.

In its final home game the team will host Miami University (Ohio) on Oct. 23.
