The Lindenwood University-Belleville women’s volleyball team is off to its best start in program history at 3-0 and the American Midwest Conference (AMC) rewarded them by naming freshman Emily Schaller as AMC Defender of the Week.

Schaller, a 5-foot-3 freshman from Freeburg, averaged 5.23 digs per set on the week — a mark that is good for 26th in the NAIA — in her first collegiate action. She had consecutive 25-dig outings against John Brown (Ark.) and Benedictine (Kan.) to finish the week, as the Lady Lynx won their first three matches of the campaign.

LU-Belleville returns to action on Wednesday night in front of the home crowd as they'll look to stay unbeaten against Missouri Valley College. First-serve is set for 7:30 p.m.
