Edwardsville defeats Belleville West in Southwestern Conference softball game
The Edwardsville Tigers defeated the Belleville West Maroons 3-0. Edwardsville had 11 hits on the night while Belleville West only tallied two hits.
The Tigers got off to a hot start by scoring one run in the first inning. Emma Lewis went 3-3 with a double and Maria Smith notched a double while going 1-4 at the plate.
Jordyn Hendricks was the winning pitcher, allowing only two hits while striking out three in a complete game effort.
Alyssa James went 1-for-2 and Claire Marlen finished 1-for-3 to lead the Maroons attack.
