Jordan Fritz pitched a full seven innings, allowing just four hits while striking out eight to lead the Freeburg Midgets to an 8-1 Cahokia Conference win over Columbia Monday.
Jakob Hoffman and Braeden Chandler both drove home two runs for Freeburg. Garrett Garland and Jack Lugge both had RBIs as well. John Hilpert went 2-5 at the plate and Carson Smith went 1-3 at the plate for the Midgets.
The Midgets share first place in the Cahokia Conference-Mississippi Division standings with Central.
Freeburg (20-6) will face Mater Dei on Tuesday at home starting at 4:30 p.m. and Columbia (17-8) will take on Wesclin at Trenton Park at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
