Indians defeat Panthers 7-1 in MVC baseball

The Mascoutah Indians defeated the Jerseyville Panthers 7-1 on Monday.

Jordan Kraljev pitched six innings for the Indians striking out six Panthers and allowed just three hits and one run.

Anthony Moll brought three home on his successful at bat. Jaelyn Curry went 2-3 and the plate and brought one home. Michael Chaffin hit a double and Noah Blakely went 3-4. Blakely leads Mascoutah with a .427 batting average in 92 plate appearances.

The Indians (20-6), who held onto first place in the Mississippi Valley Conference, next play Waterloo at home Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. The Panthers (11-13) play home against Highland Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
