Please include the athlete’s name, school, class, position, and applicable game performance statistics. Coaches must be willing to verify information.

To be clear, this poll is not scientific. In fact, we invite you to vote as many times as you want. It’s all for fun, BND readers. People also may submit the same athlete from week to week.

Here are this week’s nominees:

  • Gannon Birkner, New Athens, junior, C. Last week, Birnker had 21 points/8 rebounds/2 steals in a loss to Okawville; 28 points/9 rebounds/4 steals in a win against Dupo; 30 points/5 rebounds/2 steals in a win against Lebanon; and 23 points/7 rebounds/3 steals in a loss to Carlyle. Averaging 20.6 points per game.

  • Jimeque Harvey, Cahokia High School, senior, G. Averaging 8 points per game.

  • Ty Lenhardt, Waterloo High School, senior, G. Scored 16 points in loss to Salem, 16 points in win against Jerseyville and 21 points in loss to rival Gibault. Averaging 15.8 points per game.

  • Jordan Pickett, Belleville East High School, junior, G. Scored 23 points in win against Edwardsville, 10 points in victory against Alton and 10 points in loss to O’Fallon. Averaging 19.3 points per game.

  • Jack Steckler, Columbia High School, junior, G. Scored 12 points and hit 6 big free throws late in handing Breese Central its only home loss of the year. He also scored 18 points in a win against Roxana and had 14 points and 4 assists in victory against Greenville. Averaging 10 points per game.

  • Jake Wilkinson, Collinsville High School, junior, G. Scored 12 points in win O’Fallon, 14 points in victory against Madison and 13 points in win against Springfield. Averaging 10.3 points per game.
