Poll results: Here’s the high school softball player of the week in southwest Illinois
Brylee Anderton of Collinsville High School is the winner of this week’s Belleville News-Democrat Softball Player of the Week high school poll, as selected by readers of bnd.com.
In a recent win against Granite City, Anderton went 5-for-5 with 4 runs scored, two home runs and 4 RBI. Throughout the month of April, Anderton went 26-for-39 (.667 average) with 5 home runs, 24 RBI and 8 doubles. Overall, Anderton is batting .615 on the season with 11 home runs, 43 RBI, 14 doubles and a 1.269% slugging percentage.
Anderton tallied 44% of the votes to edge Highland High School’s Madalyn Trauernicht, who secured 38% of the votes. Other BND nominees included Samaria Adams of Belleville West High School, Adi Foutch of Breese Central High School, Lizzie Ludwig of Freeburg High School, Tatum VanRysywk of Edwardsville High School and Aileen Walker of Belleville East High School. The poll ended at 11:59 p.m. Thursday.
To be clear, this poll is not scientific. In fact, we invite you to vote as many times as you want. It’s all for fun, BND readers.
