East St. Louis, Breese Central stay undefeated in boys high school basketball action

Basketball season remains in full swing for metro-east teams.

Here is a quick look at some of the big games in the area from Tuesday on the boys circuit.

Collinsville vs. Belleville West

On Tuesday, the Kahoks beat the Maroons 60-47 to improve to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Southwestern Conference. West dropped to 4-2, 0-2.

Jake Wilkinson led Collinsville with 13 points while Zach Chambers chipped in 12 points.

In the process, Kahoks coach Darin Lee recorded his 700th career win.

Look ahead: Collinsville hosts East St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9. West hosts Granite City at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9.

O’Fallon vs. Edwardsville

On Tuesday, the Panthers improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the Southwestern Conference following a 45-43 road win against the Tigers. The Tigers dropped to 2-3, 1-1.

AJ Tillman led Edwardsville with 14 points.

Look ahead: Both teams resume action at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, as O’Fallon hosts Alton and Edwardsville visits Belleville East.

East St. Louis vs. Alton

On Tuesday, the Flyers rolled past the Redbirds 68-39 at Alton to improve to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the Southwestern Conference. Alton dropped to 1-4, 0-2.

Macaleab Rich lead East St. Louis with 25 points while Demarion Brown added 12 points and Cameron Boone had a team-high 7 blocks.

Look ahead: East St. Louis faces Collinsville and Alton takes on O’Fallon.

Breese Central vs. Triad

The Cougars stayed undefeated at 6-0 following a 50-42 against to Triad on Tuesday. The Knights dropped to 6-2.

McGrady Noyes and Drew Winslow had 14 points apiece for Breese Central.

Look ahead: Both teams resume action at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, as Breese Central hosts Roxana and Triad visits Civic Memorial.

Mascoutah vs. Salem

The Indians posted a 56-27 win against Salem at home on Tuesday in improving to 6-1.

Miles Ntekop led Mascoutah with 16 points, while Quincy Hall Jr. posted 11 points.

Look ahead: The Indians visit Waterloo at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9.

Althoff vs. Mater Dei

The Crusaders improved to 4-3 with a 62-54 home win against the Knights on Tuesday. Mater Dei dropped to 3-1.

Dalton Markus had 15 points for Mater Dei.

Look ahead: The Crusaders will head to Mount Vernon for a match-up at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9. The Knights host Belleville East at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13.
