Belleville East, O’Fallon boys teams post big non-conference victories Tuesday night
Basketball season remains in full swing for metro-east teams.
Here is a quick look at some of the big games in the area from Tuesday night’s match-ups.
Belleville East vs. Mater Dei
The Lancers won convincingly 64-46 as they visited the Knights on Tuesday night. Belleville East improved to 8-0 and Mater Dei fell to 3-2.
Look ahead: Belleville East will host Alton and Mater Dei will visit Gibault at 7:30 p.m. — both Friday, Dec. 16.
Belleville West vs. McCluer North
On Tuesday night, the Maroon dropped their fourth straight against the Stars, 58-53, as they fell to 4-4.
Brandon Scott’s 16 points was not enough to get the Maroons a win.
Look ahead: Belleville West plays East St. Louis at Lindenwood-Belleville at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16.
Collinsville vs. Granite City
The Kahoks improved to 7-2 after their 50-35 win against the Warriors.
Jamorie Wysinger led Collinsville with 20 points and Jake Wilkinson tagged along 14 points.
Look ahead: Collinsville visits O’Fallon at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16. Granite City visits KIPP St. Louis at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16.
Columbia vs. Steelville
The Eagles beat the Warriors 64-29 to improve to 7-1.
Dylan Murphy led Columbia with 19 points while Jack Steckler and Sam Donald had 12 apiece.
Look ahead: Columbia visits Monmouth-Roseville at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16.
Edwardsville vs. Cahokia
The Tigers dropped a 67-61 road game against the Comanches to fall to 3-5.
Armon Smith led Cahokia (2-7) with 15 points and Nygel Cohen was second with 14 points.
Look ahead: Edwardsville hosts Gateway Stem at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16. Cahokia visits Mount Vernon at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16.
Freeburg vs. Waterloo
The Midgets improved to 5-3 with their 61-49 win against the Bulldogs, who dropped to 1-5.
Cole Stuart led Freedburg with 17 points.
Look ahead: Both teams resume action at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, as Freeburg travels to Salem and Waterloo visits Civic Memorial.
O’Fallon vs. Mascoutah
The Panthers beat the Indians 54-46 as they improved to 7-2 and Mascoutah dropped to 8-2.
O’Fallon was led by 11 points from Isaiah Camper and 10 points from Jaeden Rush. Miles Ntekop’s 16 points was not enough to lift the Indians.
Look ahead: Both teams resume action at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, as O’Fallon hosts Collinsville and Mascoutah entertains Jerseyville.
Althoff vs. Belleville East (girls)
In girls action Tuesday, the Crusaders beat the Lancers 50-22 to improve to 8-2 while Belleville East dropped to 3-5.
Althoff was led by Charleece Davis’ 17 points.
Look ahead: On Thursday, Dec. 15, Belleville East visits Alton at 7:30 p.m. and Althoff visits Centralia at 6 p.m.
