Mid-winter basketball tournaments took place this past week at gyms in southwestern Illinois.

Here is a quick roundup from Saturday’s games.

Chick-fil-A Belleville East Classic

Seventh place: Althoff 60, Hazelwood Central 56

The Crusaders posted a four-point victory against the Hawks to improve to 7-17.

Patton Leib led Althoff with 17 points. Lucious Dones added 16 points.

Consolation final: Collinsville 60, McCluer 24

The Kahoks rolled to victory in the consolation final.

Zach Chambers led Collinsville with 20 points, and Jamorie Wysinger chipped in 11 points.

The Kahoks improved to 15-8.

Third place: Lift for Life 55, Alton 49

The Redbirds dropped a six-point verdict in the third place game.

Alton fell to 4-17.

Championship: Belleville East 57, Belleville 52

The Lancers slipped past the Maroons by five points in the title game.

East improved to 20-3. West fell to 10-11.

36th annual Highland Tournament

Consolation final: Nashville 47, Collinsville 27

The Hornettes eased their way to the consolation championship with a 20-point with against the Kahoks.

Ella Guerrero led Collinsville (12-12) with 12 points. Nashville improved to 8-8.

Fifth place: Teutopolis 56, Civic Memorial 39

The Wooden Shoes rolled to a 17-point win against the Eagles in the fifth place game.

CM is now 12-13 on the season.

Third place: O’Fallon 54, Mater Dei 34

The Panthers took down the Knights by 20 points in third place contest.

Shannon Dowell led O’Fallon (21-4) with 28 points. Mater Dei dropped to 16-5.

Championship: Alton 54, Okawville 38

The Redbirds remained perfect with a 16-point conquest of the Rockets in the title game.

Alton is now 23-0, while Okawville dropped to 20-4.

Okawville Invitational

Seventh place: Carlyle 46, Roxana 40

The Indians posted a six-point win against the Shells to secure seventh place.

Aiden Briggs led Roxana (7-15) with 17 points. Carlyle dropped to 8-14.

Consolation final: Highland 48, Okawville 36

The Bulldogs improved to 16-7 following a 12-point win agaisnt the host Rockets in the consolation final.

Cade Altadonn led Highland with 15 points, while Jake Ottensmeier added 14 points. Okawville fell to 7-15.

Third place: Gibault 60, Alton Marquette 50

The Hawks finished tournament action on a high note following a 10-point win against the Explorers in the third place game.

Gavin Kesler led Gibault (19-4) with 22 points while Kaden Augustine chipped in 18 points and Kameron Hanvey posted 16 points. The Explorers dropped to 12-11.

Championship: Columbia 59, Wesclin 48

The Eagles outscored the Warriors by eight points in the fourth quarter to secure an 11-point win in the title game.

Columbia improved to 21-2, while Wesclin dropped to 15-8.

Jack Steckler led the Eagles with 18 points, while Sam Donald posted 15 points and Dylan Murphy scored 14 points. Seth Macke paced Wesclin with 21 points and Grant Fridley scored 17 points.

40th annual Nashville Invitational

Seventh place: Brentwood vs. Metro-East Lutheran 45, Brentwood 40

The Knights improved to 4-12 with a five-point win in the seventh place game.

Third place: Mascoutah 64, Mater Dei 47

The Indians rolled to a 17-point outcome against the Knights in the third place game while improving to 16-6. Mater Dei dropped to 10-10.

Jayden McCoo led a balanced Mascoutah attack with 18 points, while Miles Ntekop scored 15 points, Corey Harris scored 14 points and Michael Fox added 11 points.

Championship: Nashville 44, Breese Central 38

The Hornets slipped past the Cougars by six points to claim the tournament championship.

Nashville is now 14-9. Breese Central is 20-3.

58th annual Sparta Mid-Winter Classic

Fifth place: Lovejoy 69, Waterloo 45

The Wildcats rolled to a 24-point victory against the Bulldogs while improving to 11-9.

Shantez Holliday and Pierre Lucas anchored Lovejoy with 20 points apiece. Waterloo dropped to 6-16.

Third place: Sparta 63, Red Bud 56

The Bulldogs improved to 14-5 with a seven-point win in the third place game.

The Musketeers dropped to 15-8.

Championship: Freeburg 66, Steeleville 45

The Midgets coasted to the tournament title with a 21-point win against the Warriors.

Freeburg is now 16-7 on the season, while Steeleville fell to 10-11.

Jerseyville Mid-Winter Classic

Edwardsville 58, Jerseyville 42

The Tigers defeated the Panthers 58-42 on Friday to claim the tournament championship of this round robin event.

AJ Tillman led Edwardsville (14-8) with 17 points, while Jaxson Brunaugh had 18 points for Jerseyville (12-10).

Litchfield Rick McGraw Memorial

Championship: Triad 58, Civic Memorial 40

The Knights rolled past their Mississippi Valley Conference rivals by 18 points in the tournament championship.

Triad improved to 18-5, while CM dropped to 11-12.
