The metro-east girls basketball seasons continued with several key games Thursday night.

The Redbirds coasted past the Tigers in a 15-point victory.

Alton continues its dominance, improving to 19-0 and 7-0 in the Southwestern Conference. Edwardsville falls to 8-10, 4-3.

Look ahead: Alton faces Triad at Highland at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14. Edwardsville hosts Westminster at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17.

The Panthers dominated the Maroons in a 39-point victory.

Shannon Dowell led O’Fallon with 29 points, while Josie Christopher chipped in 11 points.

The Panthers improved to 18-3 overall and 6-1 in the Southwestern Conference while the Maroons fell to 2-15, 1-6.

Look ahead: O’Fallon faces Hillsboro at 8:30 a.m. and Belleville West faces Okawville at 4 p.m. — both Saturday, Jan. 14, at Highland.

The Lancers downed the Kahoks with an eight-point victory.

Belleville East improves to 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the Southwestern Conference while Collinsville fell to 10-10, 3-4.

Auryanna Brierton and Jordyn Crowder led the Lancers with 11 points apiece.

Look ahead: Belleville East faces Mater Dei at Highland at 1 p.m. and Collinsville visits Highland at 2:30 p.m. — both Saturday, Jan. 14.

The Bulldogs pulled off a 17-point victory over the Knights.

Waterloo improves to 13-6 overall and 4-3 in the Mississippi Valley Conference while Triad dropped to 1-13, 1-6.

Norah Gum led the way for the Bulldogs with 16 points. Sam Lindhorst added 12 points.

Look ahead: Waterloo faces Teutopolis at 11:30 a.m. and Triad plays Alton at 10 a.m. — both Saturday, Jan. 14, at Highland.

The Indians edged the Bulldogs by four-points in a close matchup.

Mascoutah improves to 13-7 overall and 5-2 in the Mississippi Valley Conference while Highland dropped to 17-5, 6-1.

Look ahead: Mascoutah plays Wesclin at Vandalia at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16. Highland hosts Collinsville at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14.

The Eagles coasted to a 41 point victory against the Oilers.

Jordan Holten led Columbia with 23 points and Karsen Jany chipped in 19 points.

The Eagles improved to 14-7 overall and 4-2 in the Mississippi Division of the Cahokia Conference. Wood River dropped to 6-13, 0-7.

Look ahead: Columbia visits Granite City at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16. Wood River visits Mount Olive at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14.

The Cougars posted a 30-point victory against the Wildcats.

Breese Central improves to 13-6 overall and 5-1 in the Mississippi Division of the Cahokia Conference. The Wildcats dropped to 5-9, 1-5.
