The metro-east girls basketball seasons continued with several key games Thursday.

Here is a quick view of some of the outcomes.

O’Fallon 66, Belleville East 26

The Panthers dominated the Lancers with a 40-point victory.

Shannon Dowell led O’Fallon with 28 points. The Panthers improved to 25-4 overall and 10-1 in the Southwestern Conference while Belleville East fell to 7-15, 3-7.

Look ahead: Both teams resume action at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, as O’Fallon hosts Collinsville and Belleville East entertains Alton.

Alton 74, Belleville West 24

The Redbirds coasted to a 50-point win over the Maroons.

Jarius Powers and Laila Blakeny led Alton with 14 points apiece. Alton improves to 26-1 overall and 9-1 in the SWC while Belleville West dropped to 3-19, 2-8.

Look ahead: Alton visits Belleville East at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7. Belleville West hosts Granite City at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6.

Edwardville 49, East St. Louis 37

The Tigers got past the Flyers by 12 points.

Edwardsville improved to 13-12 overall and 7-4 in the SWC while East St. Louis dropped to 10-19, 1-9.

Look ahead: Edwardsville hosts Lutheran North at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7. East St. Louis faces Belleville West at Mason Clark Middle at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Highland 54, Triad 33

The Bulldogs posted a 21-point victory over the Knights.

Larissa Taylor led Highland with 18 points. Highland improved to 21-7 overall and 8-1 in the Mississippi Valley Conference while Triad dropped to 4-20, 1-8.

Look ahead: Highland visits Civic Memorial at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9. Triad visits Columbia at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6.

Mascoutah 68, Jerseyville 46

The Indians got a decisive 22-point victory over the Panthers.

Mascoutah improved to 20-7 overall and 7-2 in the MVC while Jerseyville fell to 17-12, 1-8.

Look ahead: Mascoutah hosts Salem at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4. Jerseyville visits Collinsville at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6.

Waterloo 47, Civic Memorial 28

The Bulldogs defeated the Eagles by 19 points.

Norah Gum and Liv Colson led Waterloo with 16 points each. Waterloo improved to 16-10 overall and 5-4 in the MVC while Civic Memorial fell to 13-15, 5-4.

Breese Central 42, Columbia 32

The Cougars got past the Eagles with a 10-point victory.

Taylor Trame led Breese Central with 11 points. Karsen Jany and Sam Schmuke paced Columbia with 9 points each.

Breese Central improved to 17-9 overall and 7-1 in the Mississippi Division of the Cahokia Conference while Columbia fell to 17-10, 5-4.

Look ahead: Both teams resume action Monday, Feb. 6, as Breese Central visits Okawville at 6 p.m. and Columbia hosts Triad at 7:30 p.m.

Chester 44, Red Bud 42

The Yellowjackets got a two-point win in a tight matchup against the Musketeers.

Chester improved to 13-14 overall and 2-6 in the Illinois Division of the Cahokia Conference, while Red Bud fell to 12-14, 1-7.
