BOYS

Breese Central 57, Freeburg 54, OT (Friday)

The Cougars slipped past the Midgets in overtime.

Cody Dickshot led Breese Central with 17 points, while Chase Lewis added 11 points. Caleb Weber led Freeburg with 18 points, while Lane Otten posted 15 points and Cole Stuart posted 13 points.

Breese Central improved to 24-4 overall and 8-0 in league action, while Freeburg dropped to 20-10, 6-3.

Look ahead: Both teams resume action at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, as the Cougars host Wood River and the Midgets visit Columbia.

Vashon 63, East St. Louis 48

The Wolverines dominated with a 15-point victory over the Flyers.

Vashon improved to 14-7 overall, while East St. Louis fell to 19-7.

Look ahead: East St. Louis visit O’Fallon at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Miller Career 57, Collinsville 56

The Phoenix get a tight one-point victory over the Kahoks.

Miller Career improved to 13-8 while Collinsville fell to 19-10 overall.

GIRLS

Columbia 70, Red Bud 30

The Eagles overpowered the Musketeers in a 40-point victory in IHSA regional action.

Karsen Jany led Columbia with 20 points. Columbia improved to 20-10 overall, while Red Bud ended the season at 13-18.

Look ahead: The Eagles face Althoff at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, in a semifinal game.

Jerseyville 50, Triad 37

The Panthers got past the Knights with a 13-point win in IHSA regional action.

Meredith Gray led Jerseyville with 19 points. Jerseyville improved to 18-14 overall while Triad ended the season at 5-23.

Look ahead: The Panthers visit Highland at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, in the regional semifinals.
