The metro-east boys and girls basketball seasons continued with several key games Tuesday.
Here is a quick view of some of the outcomes.
BOYS
Belleville East 72, Belleville West 46
The Lancers dominated the Maroons with a 26-point victory.
Mason Mosely led Belleville East with 19 points. Belleville East improved to 25-5 overall, 7-4 in SWC while Belleville West falls to 13-15, 3-8.
Look ahead: Belleville East host East St. Louis and Belleville West travels to Edwardsville, both at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17.
MICDS 74, Alton 55
The Rams down the Redbirds by 19 points.
Marcus Coleman led MICDS with 16 points. MICDS improved to 18-6 overall while Alton fell to 6-23.
Look ahead: MICDS hosts Lutheran North at 6 p.m. while Alton visits Collinsville at 7:30 p.m., both Friday, Feb 17.
Breese Central 69, Wood River 35
The Cougars rolled past the Oilers by 34 points.
Breese Central improved to 25-4 overall and 9-0 in the Mississippi Division of the Cahokia Conference while Wood River fell to 13-17, 4-6.
Look ahead: Breese Central hosts Columbia at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16.
Red Bud 63, Sparta 50
The Musketeers downed the Bulldogs by 13 points
Devin Hall led Red Bud with 15 points, while Drew Grohmann added 12 points and Owen Liefer notched 10 points.
Red Bud improved to 22-8 overall and 8-2 in the Illinois Division of the Cahokia Conference while Sparta drops to 19-7, 3-5.
Look ahead: The two teams will square off again at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Red Bud.
O’Fallon 51, East St. Louis 45
The Panthers secured the Southwestern Conference championship with a six-point victory over the Flyers.
Rini Harris led O’Fallon with 18 points and three steals. O’Fallon improved to 21-7 overall, 9-3 in the SWC while East St. Louis fell to 19-8, 7-4.
Look ahead: O’Fallon hosts Cahokia at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16. East St. Louis visits Belleville East at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17.
Edwardsville 51, Collinsville 43
The Tigers eased to an eight-point victory over the Kahoks.
AJ Tillman led Edwardsville with 14 points and 5 assists. Edwardsville improved to 20-9 overall and 7-4 in the SWC while Collinsville fell to 19-11, 6-4.
Look ahead: Edwardsville hosts Belleville West while Collinsville hosts Alton, both at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17.
Columbia 58, Freeburg 47
The Eagles get a decisive 11-point victory over the Midgets.
Sam Donald led Columbia with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Columbia improved to 27-3 overall and 8-1 in the Illinois Division of the Cahokia Conference while Freeburg fell to 20-11, 6-4.
Look ahead: Columbia visits Breese Central at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16. Freeburg is finished with regular season play.
GIRLS
O’Fallon 71, Belleville West 21
The Panthers dominated with a 50-point victory over the Maroons in the IHSA Class 4A Belleville East Regional semifinals.
O’Fallon improved to 28-4 overall while Belleville West ends the season at 4-22.
Look ahead: O’Fallon faces Belleville East at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the regional championship game.
Belleville East 37, Edwardsville 35
The Lancers won their third straight game with a two-point win over the Tigers in the regional semifinals
Belleville East improved to 10-16 overall while Edwardsville finishes the season at 16-13. Kamora Davis led the Lancers with 12 points and Taylor Smith added 10 points.
Look ahead: Belleville East faces O’Fallon at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the regional championship game.
Alton 81, Granite City 28
The Redbirds posted a 53-point victory against the Warriors in the IHSA Class 4A Alton Regional semifinals.
Alton improved to 30-1 overall, while Granite City ends the season at 5-23.
Look ahead: Alton hosts Quincy at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, for the regional crown.
Quincy 45, Collinsville 39
The Blue Devils defeated the Kahoks by six points in the Alton Regional semifinals.
Quincy improved to 20-11 overall. Collinsville ended the season at 14-18 overall.
Look ahead: Quincy faces Alton at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the regional championship game.
Althoff 52, Columbia 44
The Crusaders got by the Eagles by eight points in the IHSA Class 2A Althoff Regional semifinals.
Althoff improved to 19-9 overall while Columbia’s season concluded with a 20-11 record. Jordan Holten led the Eagles with 18 points with Karsen Jany adding 14 points.
Look ahead: Althoff faces Mater Dei at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, for the regional crown.
Mater Dei 43, Greenville 25
The Knights blow by the Comets with an 18-point victory in the Althoff Regional semifinals.
Mater Dei improved to 21-7 overall while Greenville ends the season at 19-12.
