Mount Vernon 85, East St. Louis 81

The Rams got by the Flyers with a four-point victory in the IHSA 3A Centralia Sectional semifinals.

Mount Vernon improved to 26-6 overall while East St. Louis concluded the season 13-21.

Look ahead: Mount Vernon faces Highland at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, for the sectional title.

Highland 52, Mattoon 28

The Lady Bulldogs dominated the Green Wave with a 24-point victory in the Class 3A Centralia Sectional semifinals.

Highland improved to 25-7 overall while Matton finished at 15-16.

Larissa Taylor led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points, while Grace Wilke added 12 points.

Look ahead: Highland faces Mount Vernon at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the sectional championship.

Mater Dei 55, Massac County 45

The Knights downed the Patriots by 10 points in the IHSA Class 2A Du Quoin Sectional semifinals.

Mater Dei improved to 23-7 overall while Massac County’s season ended at 24-6.

Look ahead: Mater Dei faces cross-town rival Breese Central at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the sectional championship game. The Knights and Cougars faced off once this season, with Mater Dei prevailing 51-41 at the Mascoutah Invitational in December.

Breese Central 44, Benton 29

The Cougars coasted past the Rangers by 15 points in the Class 2A Du Quoin Sectional finals.

Breese Central improved to 21-11 overall while Benton finished the season 24-9.

Look ahead: Breese Central faces Mater Dei at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Du Quoin Sectional finals.

Okawville 69, Jacksonville Routt 34

The Rockets had little trouble advancing at the IHSA Class 1A Jacksonville Routt Sectional, dispatching the host team by 25 points.

Okawville improved to 30-4.

Look ahead: The Rockets will face Carlyle at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the sectional championship game. Okawville and the Indians faced off twice this season, with the Rockets winning 55-39 and 65-45.

Carlyle 54, Hardin Calhoun 45

The Indians eased past the Warriors by nine points in the other semifinal game at Jacksonville Routt.

Carlyle improved to 28-5.

Look ahead: The Indians will face Okawville at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the sectional championship game.
