Althoff and Okawville remain second in new boys state basketball rankings; Central is third in 2A
Althoff and Okawville remained second in the state in their respective classes Tuesday when the Associated Press released its new boys state basketball rankings.
Althoff (23-2) remains second behind Morgan Park in Class 3A, while Okawville (24-3) was second behind Colfax Ridgeview in Class 1A, Central (24-4) remained third in the Class 2A boys state rankings and Edwardsville (19-4) moved up a spot from sixth to fifth in Class 4A.
Metro-East Lutheran (22-4) dropped to 11th in the Class 1A state rankings and Gibault ((18-9) was 12th.
In the final girls state rankings, Edwardsville (26-1) was third in Class 4A. In the final 3A state rankings, Highland (25-4) moved up from seventh to sixth while Triad (22-3) moved up from ninth to eighth. Both Mississippi Valley Conference rivals are in the Class 3A Triad Regional and could meet in the regional final on Thursday.
