Edwardsville continues perfect season; Jerseyville wins in double overtime

Edwardsville beats East St. Louis

Edwardsville beat East St. Louis 57-42 in conference play Thursday.

The Tigers got a dominant performance from Kate Martin, who scored 22 points. Jaylen Townsend pitched in 12 points, and Myriah Noodel- Haywood had 10 rebounds on the night.

Edwardsville has two regular season games remaining, both of which are conference games.

Edwardsville (23-0) will play O’Fallon on Tuesday. East St. Louis (13-9) will play Granite City on Tuesday.

Carlyle tops Centralia

Carlyle beat Centralia 53-49 in nonconference play Thursday.

The lead changed throughout the night. Centralia was down by seven at halftime but bounced back to lead by four at the end of third quarter.

Brooklyn Smith led the charge for the Indians, scoring 14 points.

Centralia will play Althoff on Saturday. Carlyle will play Sesser-Valier at Nashville on Tuesday.

It is the Musketeers’ seventh straight victory.

Jerseyville overcame an exhausting double-overtime game to beat Highland 75-74 on Thursday.

Jerseyville (19-5) will play Columbia on Saturday. Highland (17-10) will play Waterloo on Monday.

Civic Memorial easily beats Triad

Civic Memorial beat Triad 69-39 on Thursday.

The Eagles held a 10-point lead at the half, but a low-scoring third quarter by the Knights allowed CM to extend its lead.

Tori Standefer scored 15 points, while Anna Hall had 13 points to lead the Eagles to the win.

Triad’s top scorer was Ali Barisch (17 points).
