Mater Dei, Carlyle players earn honorable mention status on AP Class 2A all-state team

Seniors Shannon Lampe of Mater Dei and Molly Diekemper of Carlyle were among five metro east area players to earn honorable mention recognition on the Associated Press Class 1A-2A Girls All-State Basketball Team.

Lampe, a 5-9 guard-forward, averaged 12.7 points, 6 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 3.7 assists per game for a Knights team which finished 21-9 and reached the Class 2A Greenville Sectional title game, which it lost to Pleasant Plains.

Diekemper, a 6-foot senior guard, averaged 17.6 points and seven rebounds for Carlyle during the 2019-2020 season. Adrenna Snipes, a 5-5 sophomore guard from Marquette, was also an honorable mention selection.

Snipes averaged 20.7 ppg., for the Explorers who finished 24-7.

In Class 1A, Madison Webb and Anna McKee, both from Father McGivney in Glen Carbon, were honorable mention selections.

Webb, a 5-9 senior forward, averaged 15 points and nine rebounds while McKee, a 5-9 junior guard, averaged 12.3 points and 3 assists for the Griffins who finished 27-8 and reached the Class 1A Springfield Super-Sectional.
