The metro-east softball season continued with several games Monday.
Here is a quick view of some of the outcomes.
Belleville West 9, Columbia 8
The Maroons edged the Eagles in a 1-run win.
Belleville West improved to 10-5. Columbia fell to 8-6.
Olivia Anderson and Elizabeth Schauster led West’s offensive attack with a HR each. Karsen Jany led Columbia with 3 hits.
Kayla Conner won the game, recording 7 strikeouts.

Highland 13, Waterloo 6
The Bulldogs coasted past the opposing Bulldogs in a 7-run win.
Highland improves to 6-5-1 overall and 3-0 in the Mississippi Valley Conference. Waterloo fell to 9-4, 2-1.
Maggie Grohmann led Highland with 2 homers and 5 RBI. Sophia Donoho added 4 hits and 1 RBI. Katie Lindhorst led Waterloo with 3 hits and 1 RBI.
Donoho pitched a complete game and had 6 strikeouts.

The Rockets blew past the Yellow Jackets in a 14-run win.
