Alton Marquette 17, Althoff 1

The Explorers dominated the Crusaders with a 16-run victory.

Alton Marquette improved to 4-10. Althoff fell to 2-3.

Meredith Zigrang led Alton Marquette with 2 hits and 1 RBI. McKennah Youngblood won the game, allowing just 4 hits.

Look ahead: Alton Marquette hosts Jerseyville at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 5. Althoff hosts Gibault at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4.

Edwardsville 10, Belleville West 2

The Tigers blew past the Maroons with an 8-run win.

Edwardsville improved to 21-4 overall and 8-0 in the SWC while Belleville West fell to 11-13, 4-5.

The Midgets coasted to a 10-run victory over the Cougars.

Freeburg improved to 24-1 overall and 8-0 in the Cahokia Conference (Mississippi Division), while Breese Central fell to 9-12, 3-6.

Samantha Roulanaitis led Freeburg with 4 RBI and a HR. She also posted 9 strikeouts while earning the win.

Waterloo 8, Civic Memorial 6

The Bulldogs downed the Eagles by 2 runs.

Waterloo improved to 13-9 overall and 4-3 in the MVC while Civic Memorial fell to 11-8, 3-4.

Jade Voelker led Waterloo with 3 hits and 3 RBI. Multiple Eagles led the way with 2 hits and 3 RBI each.

Aidan Dintelman won the game while notching 6 strikeouts.
