June 3 softball playoff roundup: Waterloo faces Charleston at the Highland Sectional

The IHSA softball postseason is currently taking place.

Here is a roundup from sectional championship action.

Class 3A

Highland Sectional

Waterloo saw its season end at 19-13 following an 11-5 loss to Charleston in the sectional championship Saturday, June 3.

Charleston improved to 27-5 and advances to Decatur Super-Sectional.

Class 4A

Normal Community Sectional

Edwardsville’s terrific season ended with a 6-3 loss to Bradley-Bourbonnais in the Normal Community Sectional championship game Friday, June 2.

The Tigers ended the campaign at 30-7. The Boilermakers improved to 24-5 and advanced to the Bloomington Super-Sectional at 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 5, where they will face Yorkville.

Edwardsville had defeated Belleville East 4-1 in the sectional semifinals.
