Some of the top St. Louis-area high school basketball players will compete in an Illinois-Missouri all-star game Saturday at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center in East St. Louis.
What’s special about this all-star showcase is that its participation is limited to players who have yet to commit to a college program. Some of the names are surprising.
The Illinois team will include Darrien McClain of O’Fallon, Tryrone Riley and Treyvion Crogier of East St. Louis and 6-foot-8 center Kerry Ivy of Peoria Manuel. Missouri will be represented by Dominick Erby and Demarco Owens of McCluer North and Hazelwood West point guard Cameron Carter, among others.
The game starts at 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door.
