East St. Louis roll over struggling Kahoks

East St. Louis quarterback Christian Perez passed for 137 yards and three touchdowns, and running back Jaylen Reed rushed for 242 yards and two touchdowns as the Flyers took down the Collinsville Kahoks 80-7 Friday.

Eric Rogers II returned an 80-yard punt for a touchdown in the first quarter as the Flyers never looked back. Jigg Brown finished the night with touchdown runs of 15, 1, and 25 for the Flyers.

Kameron Sloan scored the lone touchdown for the Kahoks on a one-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

East St. Louis (4-1), ranked No. 2 in Illinois Class 7A, next travels to Belleville West Saturday 1 p.m. to play the Maroons for first place in the Southwestern Conference.

Collinsville (0-5) next faces Granite City Friday at 7 p.m.
