Brown leads East St. Louis past Granite City
Jigg Brown scored five touchdowns for East St. Louis in a 58-0 win over Granite City Friday.
Brown scored on runs of two five-yard runs and two more of 19 and 1 yards. he hauled in a 20-yard touchdown pass from Flyers’ quarterback Christian Perez in the third quarter.
The Flyers also got a pair of touchdown runs from Jaylen Reed and a 22-yard scoring reception from Eric Rogers II. Oliver McDowell scored the game’s first touchdown on a 42-yard fumble recovery.
Perez finished the game 15 of 23 passing for 328 yards.
East St. Louis improved to 6-1 with games remaining at O’Fallon next Friday and at home against Alton in the season finale.
Granite City has struggled since scoring at least 50 points in each of its first two games. The Warriors have scored just 47 points total ever since and have fallen to 2-5.
