Althoff’s Bryson Strong honored as one of eight national Players of the Week
Althoff High junior linebacker Bryson Strong was chosen as USA Football/MaxPreps Great Lakes Regional High School Football Player of the Week for his performance in the Crusaders’ 54-38 road win two weeks ago against Jefferson City (Mo.) Helias.
Strong (5-foot-11, 203 pounds) led the defense by racking up 21 tackles, including 15 solo stops, along with two quarterback sacks. In only three games for Althoff (3-0), which was fourth in the latest Class 4A state rankings, Strong already has a team-leading 43 tackles and four sacks.
He was a Belleville News-Democrat first-team All-Area selection last season as a sophomore.
USA Football/Max Preps honors eight players throughout the country each week. Players are chosen based on statistics submitted to MaxPreps.com, with each winner receiving a certificate and letterman patch.
