O’Fallon kicker Tucker McCann selected for Semper Fi All-American Game
O'Fallon High senior kicker and punter Tucker McCann has been selected to participate in the Semper Fi All-American Game Jan. 3 in Carson, Calif.
The University of Missouri recruit will be presented with his All-American jersey by game officials 3 p.m. Wednesday at the O'Fallon High auditorium.
The 6-foot-180-pound senior set at Illinois state record with a 60-yard field goal in 2014 as a junior and is the Panthers’ all-time leader with 28 career field goals. This season he had six field goals and 22 points while also averaging 44.76 yards on 41 punts and routinely sending his kickoffs flying out of the end zone.
McCann booted five field goals of 50 yards or longer during his career, including the 60-yarder. He also was successful on field goals from 51, 52, 53 and 54 yards and his 156 points ranks as the second-highest total among kickers in O’Fallon history behind Kevin Kinsall’s 176 points.
The Semper Fi All-American Game is set for 8 p.m. Jan. 3 and will be broadcast nationally on FS1.
McCann is the second straight All-American kicker-punter from the Southwestern Conference, following Belleville West graduate Austin Seibert. Seibert, who played in the Under Armour All-American game, is having a strong season as a freshman at nationally ranked Oklahoma.
