Recruiting battle heating up for East St. Louis wide receiver Dominic Lovett

The recruiting battle for East St. Louis wide receiver Dominic Lovett is starting to heat up.

A 4-star prospect and the No. 8 overall recruit in the Class of ‘21 by 247 Sports, Lovett announced on social media this week that he has received scholarship offers from perennial Southeastern Conference powers Georgia, Arkansas and Mississippi State University.

Ranked as the No. 51 wide receiver in the nation by 247 Sports, the 5-10, 175-pound Lovett had previously gotten offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Louisville, Purdue and West Virginia.

Lovett ended his junior season with 73 catches for 1,541 yards and 16 touchdowns. He had five receptions for 118 yards and two scores in the Flyers 43-21 win over Crystal Lake Prairie Ridge in the Class 6A state title game in November at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb..

The offer from Georgia is Lovett’s biggest to date. A national power, the Bulldogs finished the 2019-20 season ranked fourth in the final Associated Press Top 25 poll. Georgia (12-2) defeated Baylor 26-14 in the Sugar Bowl.
