With the Cardinals hoping to improve their bullpen by adding a dominant left-handed reliever, St. Louis is expected to pursue free agent Andrew Miller during the 2018 offseason.

According to Bleacher Report, the Cardinals are among the teams showing serious interest in free agent Andrew Miller.

Miller, who struggled with knee and shoulder injuries in 2018, had a 4.24 ERA in 37 appearances for the Cleveland Indians. That came after he posted a 1.55 ERA in 2016 and a 1.44 ERA in 2017.

The lefty reliever received a clean bill of health earlier this month, and he’s gotten looks from several teams in addition to the Cardinals. The Phillies and Mets are also showing interest.

St. Louis is in the market for a left-handed reliever this offseason as well as searching for a closer after using a number of different pitchers to close out games in 2018.

Josh Donaldson signs with Atlanta Braves

Free agent third baseman Josh Donaldson has reportedly signed a 1 year, $23 million deal with the Atlanta Braves.

The Cardinals were rumored to have interest in Donaldson, especially after they tried to send Jack Flaherty and other prospects to Toronto last offseason. The Cardinals were also rumored to be pursuing a Donaldson trade at the Aug. 31 waiver deadline.

50.1 percent of fans who participated in the MLBtraderumors.com prediction contest thought Donaldson would sign with St. Louis.

Josh Donaldson is one of the top free agents on the market during the 2018 MLB offseason, and many experts believe he'll be wearing a St. Louis Cardinals jersey in 2019.
