Cardinals activate Matt Holliday
Matt Holliday was activated from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday by the St. Louis Cardinals. He is not in the Tuesday lineup against the host Milwaukee Brewers.
Holliday, 35, has missed the last 41 games since going on the disabled list July 30 with a right quadriceps strain. He also was on the disabled list June 9-July 16 with a right quadriceps strain. He returned from the first injury and appeared in just 11 games while collecting this 275th career homer July 21 against the Chicago White Sox. He reinjured the quad July 29.
In 63 games this season, Holliday is batting .290 with just four home runs 31 RBIs.
