Former O’Fallon, East St. Louis stars sign NFL free agent contracts. Find out with who.
A placekicker at the University of Missouri the past four years, O’Fallon High School graduate Tucker McCann will get a chance to show off his strong right leg in the National Football League.
A 2016 graduate of OTHS, McCann signed a free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans on Saturday following the conclusion of the National Football League Draft.
McCann was one of the most consistent kickers in the Southeastern Conference during his four year career with the Tigers. In 49 career games, McCann booted 61 field goals, including 16 in 22 attempts this past season.
McCann, who finished his collegiate career by making his final five attempts, had his longest field goal of the season, a 52-yarder, against Southeast Missouri State on Sept. 14. He also added 175 point after touchdowns and finished with 358 points for his career at Missouri.
McCann was ranked the top high school kicker/punters in the nation at O’Fallon during his senior season, making 74 of 79 PAT’s as a senior and finishing his career with 28 field goals.
East St. Louis native signs with Jaguars
A first-team all-Southeastern Conference performer as a junior, former East St. Louis Flyers standout Tre’Vour Wallace-Simms has signed a free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
A three year starter at offensive guard for the Missouri Tigers, the 6-5, 330-pound Wallace-Simms is a 2016 graduate of East St. Louis.
One of the top offensive linemen in the state when he played for coach Darren Sunkett at East St. Louis, Wallace-Simms developed into one of the nation’s top offensive linemen during his junior season at Missouri in 2018.
In more than 1,000 snaps, Wallace-Sims did not allow one quarterback sack and was not called for a penalty all season.
