KC Chiefs made roster moves after 3-day minicamp, including bringing back familiar name

The Chiefs tweaked their roster, including bringing back a familiar name, at the conclusion of their recent three-day mandatory minicamp.

The Chiefs signed cornerback Chris Lammons and wide receiver Aaron Parker, who attended minicamp on a tryout basis, according to Thursday’s NFL Transactions report.

Lammons stands out because he spent the past three seasons in Kansas City, contributing mostly on special teams. He entered the offseason as an exclusive-rights free agent, but the Chiefs did not make him a qualifying offer, so he became an unrestricted free agent.

The 26-year-old Lammons made news in mid-February 2020 for his alleged involvement in a battery case at a Las Vegas nightclub. The alleged incident took place over Pro Bowl weekend and also involved New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara. Lammons later turned himself in to the police and posted bail.

Lammons, Kamara and two other men — Darrin Young and Percy Harris — face an Aug. 1 hearing in Las Vegas on felony assault charges, according to the Associated Press.

Parker, 24, originally entered the NFL in 2020 as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys before spending time with the Carolina Panthers in 2021.

To make room on their roster, the Chiefs waived cornerback Luq Barcoo and wide receiver Mathew Sexton, who carried an injury designation. Barcoo joined the Chiefs during the March free-agency period, while Sexton signed a reserve/future deal in January.
