Travis Kelce says he wants to be a Kansas City Chief for the rest of his career

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce can’t see himself wearing another NFL uniform.

“I don’t plan on playing anywhere else,” Kelce said. ”I hope the Chiefs have that in mind too.”

Kelce expressed his appreciation for a recently restructured contract that moved $3 million of his future earnings into this year.

“I was extremely appreciative they put that together,” Kelce said. “It’s why I go out and play my tail off for this city and this organization.”

Kelce, 32, about to begin his 10th NFL season, is considered among the game’s best players. He set an NFL record for receiving yards in a season by a tight end, and has been named first-team All-Pro three times to go along with his seven Pro Bowls.

Kelce, who signed a four-year extension in 2020 worth $57.25 million, has also been an exceptional playoff player. His 12 career touchdowns rank tied for third in NFL history. He hopes to add to those totals.

“I love being here,” Kelce said. “I’ve done everything I can to do things the right way both on the field and in the community. I’m going to continue to do that. They know that. They know the type of leader they’re going to get in this building.”
